Λίνδος
Ο Κλεόβουλος, είναι ένας από τους επτά σοφούς της αρχαίας Ελλάδα που έζησε και αποφάνθηκε.
Η Λίνδος ήταν ένα κέντρο της πολιτισμένης ζωής της τέχνης και του πολιτισμου.
Ο ναός της Αθηνάς χτίστηκε από Κλεοβούλου στο 550 π.Χ. και ξαναχτίστηκε τον 3ο αιώνα π.Χ. με τη μορφή που βλέπουμε σήμερα.
Ο Απόστολος Παύλος ήταν στην Λίνδο και ίδρυσε την εκκλησία ροδιακό, και έδωσε το όνομά του στο κόλπο του Αγίου Παύλου.
Όταν ο Ελληνιστικός και Βυζαντινός κόσμος έπεσε στα χέρια των Σαρακηνών επιδρομέων, οι ιππότες του Αγίου Ιωάννη κατέλαβαν το νησί.
Οχυρώσαν την Ακρόπολη, ενσωματώνοντας την παλιά βυζαντινή εκκλησία που είναι ακόμα ορατή.
Η εκκλησία του χωριού, αφιερωμένη στην Κοίμηση της Παναγίας χτίστηκε από τους Ιππότες τον 14ο αιώνα και τοιχογραφήθηκε από τον Γεώργιο της Σύμης με το παραδοσιακό στυλ το 1779.
Η γοητεία της Λίνδου εξαρτάται από την διαστρωμάτωση των αιώνων παρέχοντας μια ξεχωριστή γεύση, οι αρχαίοι Έλληνες, οι ιππότες, τα σπίτια του 18ου αιώνα, ο κυβερνήτης του πλοίου, τα εστιατόρια και τα καταστήματα του σήμερα.
