Chalki Island

Halki is a small island of the Dodecanese, located very close to Rhodes. Not very developed tourist but this is the perfect destination for peace and privacy. The island stands out for its traditional architecture and relaxing beaches. Niborio is the only village and main port. In the center of the island of Halki, there is an abandoned village with medieval castle on top.

The village was abandoned when the Aegean faced piracy and people started moving around the harbor. In the few sandy beaches of Halki you can access on foot or by bus.

The rest are completely isolated. The island you visit on vacation or on a day trip from Rhodes.
In fact, there are daily local ferries to Halki the harbor of Ancient Kamiros Rhodes, allowing to go to the island and return the same day.

Halki is a place to enjoy walks and secluded beaches. The only city Emporio is a picturesque place that surrounds the main port of the island. The coastal road of Niborio is lined with cafes and restaurants and a short bus departs for beaches around the island and mostly to the beach River.
